Major Arcana VII — Tarot of Marseille
The Chariot
Meaning of the card: general sense, love, career, money and health.
General Meaning
The Chariot is triumph in motion. Carried by conquering energy, it advances with mastery, overcoming obstacles through force of will and dynamism.
Standing in his chariot, a crowned young prince holds the reins of two horses — one pulling left, the other right. He does not fight them: he makes them advance together. The Chariot is the card of triumph in motion, of the will that unifies opposing forces and turns tension into direction.
This card announces a victory, an advancement, rapid progress: a project coming to fruition, recognized success, a favorable trip or move. It rewards disciplined energy — momentum, yes, but held by firm reins. It advises staying on course and not getting drunk on speed. Its shadow: haste, the victor's pride, headlong flight. The chariot has no brakes: the driver must have them.
