The Hierophant

General Meaning
The Hierophant bridges the visible and invisible. A benevolent mediator, he guides and advises with wisdom, favoring harmony and lasting agreements.
The Hierophant blesses two kneeling figures with his right hand while his left holds the triple-barred cross. Between the two pillars of his authority, he is the bridge between heaven and earth: the one who transmits, teaches, and connects people to one another and to what surpasses them. A figure of the benevolent guide, he speaks — where the High Priestess kept silent.
This card announces precious advice, a teaching, a happy mediation. It favors agreements, contracts, unions — it is one of the marriage cards — and everything built on trust and the given word. It may point to a mentor, a therapist, a wise counselor crossing your path. Its shadow: dogmatism, rigid morality, self-serving advice. It invites you to listen, then choose freely.
